Social Sciences Summer 2013 - Programme of Study 
A2 courses will begin for all year 12 students during the week beginning 10th June.  All students will be required to meet all internal course requirements for progression onto the A2 courses.  Those  students intending to add-on an additional AS/A2 social science subject to their A2 studies need to join with the relevant AS class on 10th June.
1) Psychologists will complete one section of PY4 before beginning PY3 in September (the latter will be examined in January 2013; the former in June 2014);
2) Sociologists will begin studying the Sociology of Health (examined January 2014);
3) Health and Social Care GCE Single students will begin research and analysis of local health care provision and theories of ageing (examined April/May 2014).
4) Health and Social Care Double Award students will begin study of psychological theories of personality and professional job roles, in addition to Single Award studies (examined April/May 2014)
5)Year 10 GCSE students have began studying Human Growth and Development in preparation for their final GCSE examination in May 2014..    
6) Year 9 Health students will begin their study of Infectious Diseases, which will begin with a study of the signs, symptoms diagnosis and the treatment of measles, including discussion of the work of Andrew Wakefield and its impact on up-take of the MMR vaccination.
